STUDIES ON THE NEST AND GRAPES

In the context of an art residency held on the summer of 2006, I started a series of studies on the dialectics "static / dynamic" moved by an intimate reflection on the nest and the grape symbology. I used local organic materials collected on a spontaneous manner and later subjected to a process of slight translocation.

The human body, such as my hand, appears in the process as a mediator, dominator and accelerator between the two poles, static and dynamic. At the same time, the hand is felt like a life generator, the mother protector of her nest.

TO BE

TO BE is an interdisciplinary artistic project born in 2005 after an analysis of life felt as change and transformation. It’s an open-ended and streaming work where “friend-artists” from a spectrum of different experiences and origins are invited to collaborate.
TO BE tells stories of everyday life lived by the artist and by the people she met. People that represent the mirror where she reflects herself.
By means of a travel inside memory, sometimes accompanied by vocal sounds, the mirror tries to surface what is hidden inside of us, to recover what apparently has been lost. Emotions, feelings, distant memories return to be present with strong intensity.

INCANTO

“Incanto” is a concert-performance for solo voice performed live accompanied by sound objects. Video projections, that make a counterpoint to the performer’s singing, can also be present according to the characteristic and infrastructures of the space.
In “Incanto” the artist draws with her voice an evocative soundscape rich in suggestions by means of western, oriental and self developed vocal techniques inspired by the sounds of nature, animals and by all the non-verbal vocal expressions that encircle the common verbal language. The voice is accompanied by a strong gestural and mimic component, with which the artist manages to create paradoxical situations where everything is continually put in discussion.
